Darren is a recognized leader in civil engineering for freight rail projects throughout the United States. He specializes in railroad infrastructure and has played a pivotal role in the design and construction of numerous main lines, branch lines, yards, industry spurs, railroad crossings, and rail-served industrial developments and facilities.

Darren is a licensed professional engineer in 17 states. Significant projects include rail and civil design for a $20 million environmental remediation site for the US Department of Energy in Utah, a 100-mile railway rehabilitation project in Nevada, and a 2,500 acre rail served industrial park in Arkansas. He is active in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), and currently serves as Subcommittee Group Leader for Bulk Fluids on the Yards and Terminals Committee.
