Survey & Site Design
Provided design plans for civil engineering and construction oversight services for Canyon Creek Elementary, a 10.5-acre site, including supporting off-site improvements.
Communication was a vital aspect of this project. CRS attended weekly design coordination meetings with the owner, architect, and other design team members. Regular communication with Farmington City and utility providers was key to successfully meeting the design needs on-time and on-budget. Engineering services included:
ƒ *Street and utility design on 1100 West and 675 South which borders the school
ƒ *Securing multiple easements and approval from private property owner and Rocky Mountain Power
ƒ *An additional 1,500 linear feet of 30” diameter storm drain installed past roadway improvements at 1100 West
ƒ *Storm drain system design and outfall, adjacent to Farmington Bay, which required permission from Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR). Discharge location was located across a playa, in Rocky Mountain Power conservation parcel
ƒ *A Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) after adding 6’ of elevation to site and storm drain design
ƒ *Successful FEMA mitigation which removed school site from the 100-year floodplain
ƒ *Installing box culvert and bridge at Farmington Creek and 1100 West to improve transportation and access to Canyon Creek Elementary
