Project Challenge
Congestion at the Freeport McMoRan mine in Miami Arizona during shift changes cause queuing onto state rout 60. Mobility through Miami was encumbered and safety of commuters, mine workers and pedestrians was being compromised.
CRS Solution/Benefit
Traffic mitigation analysis to reduce delay and improve mobility for traffic entering, exiting, and traversing the Miami, AZ mine. Specific project outcomes reduced delay at the security gate, and maximized mobility and capacity to eliminate impact of the mine onto SR-60.
