CRS was on the Design-Build team with Mountain View Corridor Constructors (MVCC), a Kiewit – Clyde joint venture with Parsons as the prime engineering firm. The project consisted of extending Mountain View Corridor 4.3-miles from 4100 South to California Ave. CRS’s role in the project was utility design and coordination. We coordinated with 21 utility entities, including the city’s, districts (water, sewer), and private (power, gas, telecommunication). This coordination included weekly meetings with most entities, 31 relocation designs designed and relocated by a utility, and 17 relocations designed by CRS and relocated by MVCC. Notable utilities on the project include two 36-inch Kern River Gas high pressure gas lines that ran along the project’s length and were protected in place as work was completed around it. Dominion Energy’s 12-inch high-pressure gas line was relocated for the new interchange of MVC at SR-201, and 5,000 feet of overhead power lines communication lines placed underground.
